What adult BJJ actually looks like.
Warm-up, technique of the day, positional drilling, then live rounds you can opt into. Roughly one hour, evenings, gi and no-gi.
- Gi and no-gi training on full competition mats
- Beginner fundamentals track — start with zero experience
- Positional drilling before live rolling, every class
- Coaching under BJJ Coach Erick Week
- Visiting seminars (Omar Salum and other black belts)
- Evening class times built around a work schedule

From day one to your first roll.
Nobody throws you into sparring on night one. Here is how a true beginner ramps up.
Week one — the basics
You learn how to move on the mat: shrimping, bridging, base, posture. No sparring pressure. A coach walks you through every rep.
Week two — positions
Guard, mount, side control, and the escapes that go with each. You drill with a partner who already knows you are new.
Week three — first submissions
Armbar, triangle, rear naked choke — taught slowly, with the tap and the safety rules taught first.
Week four — your first roll
Controlled live rounds at a pace you choose. Most people are hooked here, and the conditioning takes care of itself.
Coaches who still train themselves.
Master Wade McCoig trains BJJ under Coach Erick Week and hosts visiting black belts for seminars at the school.

Before your first class
The questions adults ask us most before stepping on the mats for the first time.
01Where can adults take Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu classes in Las Vegas?
+
Adults can train Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu at Results Martial Arts in two Las Vegas Valley locations: Silverado Ranch at 9890 South Maryland Parkway, Las Vegas, NV 89183, and Green Valley at 2549 Wigwam Parkway, Henderson, NV 89074. Both studios have full competition mats and run gi and no-gi adult classes in the evenings so they fit around a work schedule. Classes are led by coaches who still train and compete themselves, including instruction under BJJ Coach Erick Week. New students can start with two weeks of unlimited classes for $25 at either location.
02Can I start BJJ as a complete beginner with no experience?
+
Yes. Most adults who walk into our Las Vegas BJJ classes have never trained a martial art before. Your first weeks focus on movement — shrimping, bridging, base and posture — then core positions like guard, mount and side control, with a coach drilling beside you. You are not thrown into sparring on night one; live rounds are opt-in and start at a pace you choose, usually around week four. There is no athletic prerequisite and no minimum fitness level required to begin.
03How much does adult BJJ cost in Las Vegas?
+
Adult Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu memberships in the Las Vegas Valley generally run about $150 to $250 per month depending on the gym and how often you train. At Results Martial Arts every new adult starts with the 2 weeks for $25 intro, which includes unlimited classes for two full weeks so you can judge the coaching and the room before committing. After the intro, a coach reviews the membership options with you — including unlimited training across BJJ, Taekwondo and Kickboxing — with no long-term contract. Call (702) 837-8400 for current pricing.
04What should I wear and bring to my first BJJ class?
+
For your first class, wear athletic clothing with no zippers, buttons or pockets — a rash guard or fitted t-shirt with athletic shorts or leggings works. Bring water, a towel and a mouthguard if you have one. You do not need to buy a gi before you start; we will get you set up once you decide to continue. Trim your nails, leave jewelry at home, and arrive about ten minutes early so a coach can walk you through mat etiquette and the tapping rules before class begins.
05Is Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu good exercise for adults?
+
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a full-body workout that builds strength, mobility, cardiovascular conditioning and body awareness, and most adults find it far easier to stay consistent with than a gym routine because each class is a skill session rather than repetitive cardio. Training also teaches practical self-defense based on leverage and position rather than size or strength, which is why BJJ suits adults of all body types. Students at Results Martial Arts commonly report better sleep, steady weight loss and lower stress within the first few months.
