Chris Russell
Chris was born in San Diego and grew up in Las Vegas with 4 siblings in a military family.
He is married with an 8-year-old son who both train in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. He started karate at the age of 6, boxed in the amateurs at age 10-12 at absolute boxing “Layla Ali’s” gym, and wrestled all 4 years at the varsity level Del Sol HS and Boulder City HS. He started Brazilian jiu-jitsu training and competing in 2006 under Cameron Diffley at Legion jiu-jitsu, ultimately earning his BJJ Black Belt under world-renowned Fredson Paixao in 2017. He now holds the rank of second-degree black belt.
Chris is currently serving in the USAF as a 5th generation stealth fighter quality assurance inspector and has been coaching kids since he was 16 as a blue belt; he is 34 now.
